1) LISA GENOVA
She is an American neuroscientist and author.
She started writing full-time in 2004. She Self-published her First novel “STILL ALICE” in 2007 with iUniverse (an American Self-publishing company).
The book gained popularity and was later published by Gallery books(a traditional publishing house) in 2009. There are over 2.6 million copies in print and it has been translated into 37 languages. It was a New York Times bestseller.
In 2014, the book was adapted into a film and won the Academy Award for best actress. It was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 59 weeks.
Phew… that much progress!!! which everyone of us can dream of. It was all started by Self-publishing. The scientist introduced herself as an Author on her own and touched the peaks of popularity in the writing career even the traditional publishers became compelled by her credibility to publish her book. That’s called True Author Spirit. Infact, Amazon online stores have been selling millions of copies of that single book since 2009 because of increasing demand from hungry readers. Lisa Genova got her work into the hands of readers by removing all the disruptions that hassling her way to success. Self-Publishing made it all possible.
And you know “First Impression Is The Last Impression” and Genova’s First Impression got tremendous success by Self-publishing.
2) JOANNA PENN
J.F (Jo Frances) Penn, an Award-nominated New York Times and USA Today bestselling British author of fiction/non-fiction books.
Also an International Speaker and award winning Entrepreneur.
She Self-published her First nonfiction book in early 2008 when she was nothing, she hadn’t started her writing career yet, she didn’t sell the book because no one knew who she was . Although this book kind of flopped out but it showed her the path to success.
She writes best selling non-fiction under “Joanna Penn” and thrillers under “J.F.Penn”. She is a six-figure income podcaster.

3) MARK DAWSON
Mark Dawson is an award-nominated, USA Today bestseller English Self-published author.
With more than 20 books published and over 2 million books downloaded in multiple countries & languages.
Amazon pays $450,000 A year to this self-published writer. He has his own Self-publishing formula by which an indie author can learn revenue generating marketing skills and tools.
How???
His journey of success starts through trial and error. When he had no option and was so desperate for traditional publishing besides he had a very bad experience with the Pan books (a traditional publishing company) when he let them publish his book called “The Art of Falling Apart” in 2000 which completely kind of flopped. Dawson blamed this failure to the publishers.
Later on, his friend suggested Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. In 2012, Dawson’s first Self-published book, “The Black Mile”- a thriller again failed to register. Amazon recommended him to give the book away for free & take it as a promotional tool.
I know, for authors, it’s really painful to give all the hard work for free but being a professional, we have to take bitter pills to swallow just like Dawson did in his case.
Fortunately, the trick worked out.Initially, it had sold 50,000 copies of “The Black Mile” but unluckily, the opportunity was wasted because of the absence of a follow-up book to take advantage of such a bigger fan base though it left a deep impression on his mind by enlightening the clear path to success.
After having such a wonderful response, he started writing a series about an assassin called “John Milton” in 2013, he has sold 300,000 copies.
Now, he has become an entrepreneur as well as doing Podcast, online courses at his own Self-publishing Formula.
